welcome to the love live shrine.

I first downloaded Love Live! School Idol Festival for my school iPad back in the late 2010s, during the very peak of its hayday. Though I was way too young to understand online spaces, I was an active bystander to some of the craziest drama of all time.

That's the more "shocking" media side of it though. In the back of my head, Chika Takami is letting me know my paycheck is in five days so I should never give up.

All images used here are sourced by KachAgain, a relatively popular figure within the Love Live community who created a great free resource of all sprites, cards, and events for Love Live! School Idol Festival. Scraping the site to keep on a hard drive for archival is still on my to do list.

it's been with me for a long time.

It's a bit hard to understand why a grown, gay man is into this. I was 14 when I first found Love Live! and was enthralled by stories of laughter and love. Also, songs are super neat and I've always really liked the costumes. I am particularly jealous of Archer Umi and Pride Eli.

That's what they're called, by the way. Love live cards would release in "sets", where you would call the particular card by this: (Set Title or Event) (Name of Character). Ex. White Day Dia. Who is on the right side of the screen, btw. Hi Dia!

I think that Love Live! will be with me forever. I've always really enjoyed the hope that it gave me to continue to another day, the idea that there's always a way out. I hope the shrine shows how much I care.
